Hi, my name is Jon Hurst

I initially trained in Horticulture, completing the RNZIH Certificate course and spending 15 years as an orchardist, however cyclone Bola forced a rethink and so began a new career as an accountant in 1988. Six years of extra-mural study lead to a Massey business studies degree (accounting major), Chartered Accountancy membership in 1994 and a Public Practice certificate in 1999, but due to now working part time, I have recently decided to relinquish this. 

Born in Te Awamutu, I am married with 3 adult children,  1 son about to reach high school, and 4 grandchildren. Away from the office I have a wide range of interests including developing a small farm on the slopes of Mt Pirongia, choral singing, pretty much anything to do with water, and having family adventures.

My days of work are Monday to Wednesday.
